    CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

    The International Korean Nursing Conference, “Advances in Nursing Leadership, Practice, Education, and Research” is accepting abstract submissions for the upcoming conference, to be held on June 28 - 30, 2018, in East Elmhurst, NY. 

    The International Korean Nursing Conference brings together nursing academicians and practitioners, other health care professionals, and leaders to share their views on advances in nursing education, research and practice/service. This conference offers opportunities to disseminate scientific/clinical discoveries generated by nursing scholars and practitioners to promote innovation and inspire change, develop practical skills, debate important issues, exchange ideas, and interact with your peers.

    We are seeking abstracts that cover all areas of nursing, including but not limited to; research projects, evidence-based clinical projects, quality improvement projects, leadership or policy initiatives, education, health care system, informatics, and global health.

    Abstracts should be submitted to GKNF (GKNFUSA@gmail.com). Abstracts could be made in Word or PDF file and electronic submissions are the only accepted format.

    The abstract deadline is February 28, 2018 - 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time and you will be notified of the decision on your abstract status in mid-April via email.

    Guidelines for Abstract

    Kindly submit a 'camera ready' one-page abstracts by the due date (February 28, 2018, 11:59 pm PST) strictly following the guidelines below to be included in the conference program book.

    Completed work or projects may be submitted for either oral or poster presentation. If the work or project is not yet complete, the abstract may only be submitted as a poster presentation. Upon completion of the abstract review, final abstract acceptance will be conditional upon registration by the presenting author.

    Abstract format
    1. Title: The complete title should be capitalized and no abbreviations should be used in the title.
    2. Authors: Names and surnames for each author must be provided. Do not include degrees or titles. Presenting author(s)’ names should be underlined and corresponding author(s)’s name should be in bold.
    3. Affiliations: Each author should be referenced by number and listed by department, institution, and country.
    Example:

    4. Text:
    • Single‐spaced, 12 point font size, and not to exceed 300 words.
      • Abstracts will be reproduced exactly as submitted and will not be edited. Thus, proofread abstracts carefully to avoid errors before submission.
      • Abstract may include: a statement of the study’s specific PURPOSE, METHODS, summary of RESULTS, and CONCLUSION statement using these headings.
      • No references, tables, charts or drawings are allowed.
    Abstract Evaluation Criteria
    Using an evaluation system, ranging from 1 (not acceptable) to 5 where 5 (exceptional) is the highest score, the oral and poster presentations will be judged according to the following criteria:
    Clinical Practice/Education/Policy
    1. Clarity of the purpose, problem identification, and project objectives
    2. Synthesis and analysis of supporting literature and theoretical/conceptual framework, if applicable.
    3. Soundness of project implementation
    4. Appropriateness of evaluation criteria
    5. Predicted and actual outcomes of the project, and how they were measured (include predicted outcomes if the project is not complete).
    6. Recommendations for clinical practice, nursing education, and/or policy.
    Research
    1. Clarity of the purpose and background/significance
    2. Theoretical/conceptual framework
    3. Soundness of methods and design
    4. Appropriateness of data collection (Proposed data collection and analysis if project is not complete)
    5. Results and interpretation of results
    6. Conclusion: What do the findings mean for the science of nursing?
    Based on the average rating by the reviewers, submitted abstracts will be accepted or rejected.
